Criminals…. you will be prosecuted in Malaysian courts even when you are already dead.

I am not kidding. If you are criminals and have not been able to repent despite tough laws and living under fear of being arrested, this is probably one reason why you should consider career change. I am talking about even if you are alread dead, Malaysian prosecutors will still have no hesitation to prosecute your dead soul and body for the crime you had committed. However, I hope that will not happen again in the future after a Malaysian Session Court Judge scolded government prosecutors for filing a corruption charge against a dead policeman who died two years ago.

Sessions Court Judge Noradidah Ahmad, who was presiding over a bribery case, was surprised Wednesday when she noticed court documents stating that one of two policemen accused in the case had died after a stroke in 2005, the New Straits Times newspaper reported.

“We do not have to include a dead man in the charge. Dead people cannot testify,” Noradidah was quoted as saying by the newspaper. “It’s 2007 now, surely the prosecution had time to amend the charge. It is not as if he died yesterday.”
